A Message from the Chair

Welcome to UC Irvine Department of Dermatology Web site. Our faculty members provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for all pediatric, adolescent and adult dermatological problems.

Our dermatologists specialize in surgical and non-surgical procedures for diagnosing and treating various skin, hair, nail and vein conditions, including benign growths, skin cancers, aging skin, unwanted fat, excess hair and varicose veins. Our outstanding dermatologists use the latest technologies and techniques to help keep skin healthy, vibrant and youthful-looking.

We are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients, including services in dermatologic surgery, pharmacology and dermatopathology. We are proud of our Dermatopathology Laboratory, which provides skin pathology expertise not only to our patients, but also to community physicians and our clinical and basic research programs.

Ground-breaking research is also a hallmark of our dermatology program. Our physicians work with the Dermatology Clinical Research Center, which is involved in all phases of clinical testing, including FDA approval of investigational drugs and lasers, new indications for drugs, over-the-counter products and pharmaceuticals for cosmetic use.

Our department strives daily to innovate, to recruit the best scientists and physicians and to develop new methods to treat skin cancers, burns and the broad range of dermatologic conditions. Lastly, our primary goal is to deliver the most comprehensive, effective and compassionate care to patients.
