The UCI School of Medicine Department of Dermatology aims to be a world leader in the investigation and treatment of skin disease fueled by discovery, inclusion and medical excellence.
Education & Training
The department’s world-class faculty is dedicated to preparing medical students and residents for careers in private practice and academia. Our vibrant educational program is designed to help residents and fellows treat the gamut of dermatologic conditions with conventional and groundbreaking therapies, and to conduct sophisticated clinical development programs from basic pharmaceutical studies to Phase III clinical trials.
Research
The department’s faculty is actively engaged in clinical, translational and basic research as principal investigators. Our faculty work in the Dermatology Clinical Research Center, which is involved in all phases of clinical testing, including Food and Drug Administration approval of investigational drugs and lasers, new indications for drugs, over-the-counter products and pharmaceuticals for cosmetic use.
